monday.com dashboards can show you a total. They can't show you the total of two totals. This widget does — including numbers rolled up from subitems.
Cross-board math
Define named variables from any board, group and column, then combine them:
({ACTUAL}-{BUDGET})/{BUDGET}.
Subitem roll-up
Sum a column across every subitem on a board — the thing dashboard widgets normally can't reach.
Errors that say what's wrong
A deleted board, a missing column, a division by zero — each gets a specific message. Never a silent zero.
How it works
- Add the widget to a dashboard Start from the built-in budget-vs-actual template, or from scratch.
- Point variables at your data Board, optional group, items or subitems, column, and how to aggregate it.
- Write the formula Checked as you type, so a broken formula never reaches your dashboard.
It refreshes on its own every 60 seconds and whenever you return to the tab. It reads your
boards and writes nothing — the only permission it asks for is boards:read.
